POTASSIUM NITRITE FROM NITRATE

hi i am looking for a easy to follow way of making potassium nitrite from potassium nitrate. please help

Decomposition of potassium nitrate at 400-520ºC gives potassium nitrite and oxygen. You need to be very careful oxygen is a flammable and explosive gas.
It is much safer to add lead (Pb) to the reaction, as in the video.
